The mission of the Prior Lake Junior Optimist Club is to perform community service, develop leadership skills, and foster friendship among members. The 2021-2022 school year proved that we accomplished all of these goals. Many amazing things were accomplished this year. We grew to 152 active members within the club and collectively achieved 2100 hours of service this school year- triple last year. We completed 41 projects, spanning both our school and our community. Many new large projects were created as well, like the Baking for Ukraine project, for example. We were awarded the Club of the Year award and are in the top 10 largest JOC in the US and Canada. All of this was achieved while being student-led. Our 5 board members will also attend the JOI Convention in Reno this summer! This year showed how a little bit of optimism and service can have such a large impact on our community.
Below is a short video showing some of the projects we completed throughout the year.
